Past GIS Project Work

See below for a sample of my past GIS projects (click on the maps to enlarge)

Assessing Need For Environmental Health Services

For a project in collaboration with Baylor University and the USDA, I contributed geospatial resources to help assess the need for environmental health delivery services in a selection of US counties during the COVID-19 pandemic. Part of my contribution involved gathering, processing, and visualizing US county data for a selection of US counties. The three maps on the left visual US county data for Years of Potential Lives Lost (YPLL), Food Environment Index (FEI), and Social Vulnerability Index (SVI) attributes.

Visualizing Houston Water Sampling Locations

For a project in collaboration with a professor from Baylor University, I developed multiple maps visualizing the relative location of water sampling sites to nearby Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP), subwatersheds, and land cover features. An objective of these visualizations was to identify potential influences to water sampling results from water sampling sites in the relative Houston, Texas area.

Tracking Aedes Aegypti Mosquito Populations

For a project in collaboration with the Williamson County, Texas Environmental Health Department, I processed and visualized Aedes Aegypti mosquito trapping data from 2019 - 2022. A goal of this project was to identify priority locations to target in Williamson County where populations of Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes may be higher.
